While there are other similarly themed rental spaces out there, Outpost 181 was conceived as an immersive experience. This means that we've minimized the "Earthly" distractions as much as possible and emphasized architectural and design elements that feel in line with our intergalactic theme—something we hope true fans will appreciate! Additionally, astute guests will uncover the story behind this structure through little details they will discover during their stay. Perhaps you will even become a part of the story!

While our opening date has not yet been set, we hope to begin accepting reservations by early 2026. This largely depends on how quickly we can get financial support from fans and future guests like you, so check back for details about our Outpost 181 membership program!

Our themed rental is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains about 30 minutes north of Asheville, North Carolina. With easy access via I-26, the 13-acre location is nestled on a private mountainside accessible by gravel road. Outpost 181 is secluded from the view of nearby properties so you'll be surrounded by nature and feel like you've found another planet.

This ~1200 square-foot structure can sleep up to 7 guests. There are 2 private bedrooms with queen size beds (one with a full bathroom) and a half-bathroom accessible from the main living space. Additionally, there are 3 barrack-style beds on the upper loft. There is also a full mess area (kitchen), dining space, and couch. Wi-Fi is available and there are multiple television screens to monitor the local planetary broadcasts. An outdoor fire pit provides the perfect evening setting for sharing refreshments at the end of your day.

While Outpost 181 is primarily for overnight stays, the space is suitable for hosting small private group events, themed photoshoots, or even out-of-this-world weddings. Bring your costumes as the property was designed to serve as the perfect backdrop for your photos.

Due to prior problems with womprats, we are sorry to prohibit pets from this property.

While the gravel road up the mountainside is a bit steep, most vehicles should have no problem accessing the location. We allow a maximum of 3 vehicles per booking. Contact us in advance if you require additional parking.

We encourage guests to explore the surrounding property to take in the beautiful views of the mountainside. We do ask that guests stay on our marked trail system for their own safety and to avoid conflicts with natives. As always, wear appropriate exploration gear and use caution when hiking as some areas can be a bit steep. Please do not approach nor feed the local wildlife as this planet's fauna can be unpredictable.

Due to the unique architectural design, the upper level of Outpost 181 is not wheelchair accessible. Furthermore, children must be supervised at all times. Guests are responsible for any theft or property damage deemed beyond normal wear and tear, and may be billed for repair work. Please treat this facility with respect so that many others may also enjoy an immersive stay.

Outpost 181 is not affiliated with Disney, Lucasfilm, or any other themed rental locations. This project is solely built by fans who wanted to share their passion for that galaxy far, far away.

Construction is well under way, but financing a project of this scale can be challenging. To expedite the process and meet our opening date goal, we're asking for donations in exchange for exciting behind-the-scenes updates, exclusive merchandise, and even credits toward a future stay at Outpost 181.
